Penrod Centurion (Born 1905) was active/lived in Illinois, New York / Germany.  Penrod Centurion is known for Abstract painting, writing.

Penrod Centurion, also known as “Penny Cent” was a German-born artist who immigrated to Chicago in 1926. In 1934, he moved to southern Illinois to teach art at the College in the Hills. In 1937, he received a stipend award from the Solomon Guggenheim Foundation in New York City for the Museum of Non-Objective Painting. After 3 years, he moved to New York City in order to fulfill his commitment to the museum. Penrod became a notable figure within the New York City art world as one of the central figures in the group which was associated with the founding of the Guggenheim Museum.
